Invited speaker at ‘Ceramics and Print’ symposium, Denmark
‘Dinner Service’ unique, copper engraved tissue transfer from Spode archive on Spode china ware. Invited speaker at ‘Ceramics and Print’ symposium 26 - 27 October 2012 at Guldagergaard, International Ceramic Research Centre (ICRC) Denmark chaired by Paul Scott, Professor at KHIO, Norway in conjunction with his new edition of ‘Ceramics and Print’.
Charlotte Hodes’ paper ‘Printed Fragments: Transfers onto Ceramics’ focused on the work that she made as the only contemporary artist to be invited to the ceramic factory Spode over a period of six years until 2004. It revealed how her interest in ceramics evolved prior to working at Spode, why the context of the factory and its archive of ceramic transfers was of special interest to her and how her experience there shaped her future ceramic and 2D work.
The paper will be held in the ICRC library archive.
